Hola family!
Today I'm a
little short on time to write. A family in the ward took the us to the beach
(to see it and picnic, not to swim). But we had some delays, so we're getting
back with just a few minutes to write. I did take a bunch of pictures, so
hopefully next week I'll send you some. It was my first taste of beach complete
with palm tree.
So I am back to
learning Spanish. My eight weeks with Hna Trujillo was a much needed mental
break where I could speak English at least in my apartment. Although it was a
nice break, it also slowed my language progress. But now I am back to speaking
in Spanish all the time and thus I am starting to think more in the language
too. We didn't go on any divisions this week, but starting Thursday we are
going to be traveling like crazy. It's going to be an interesting challenge to
take care of our area and follow through with our other responsibilities.
I really like
your pictures of Christmas. It was definitely a different day for me. But it
was good. Tomorrow and the next day will probably also be challenging days to
teach, but we will do our best to find people. This week we took some of the
young women in the ward out to work with us. It has been fun to see how excited
they are to work with us and to hear them ask when they can go out to teach
with us again. And trust me--they are getting a taste of everything:
contacting, powerful lessons, rejection, appointments that don't go through,
people in the streets who say crazy things. And they are still excited to go
out with us. I'm not saying that all of them need to go on missions, but
hopefully those who do go will feel more prepared for having spent time in the
shoes of other missionaries.
Till next week.
Love,
Hermana Davis
