There hasn't
really been anything of note in the last couple of days. Mostly I'm writing to
tell you that for once in my life I haven't had changes, so I get to stay in
Palermo, Progreso for another six weeks. Yes!
But they are
opening another area in my ward, so I'm losing half of my area, which is kind
of killing me. We're going to have four sisters and two Elders in the ward.
Almost all the wards here have four to six missionaries. There are still a few
with only two missionaries, but there is also at least one branch that has
eight missionaries! It's crazy how things have changed here since I arrived.
Last night my
comp and I taught our first English class. A lot of the youth in the ward came.
We're going to have to do some work to advertise better so that it can be a way
to get new people in the church. We also are going to have to get better at
teaching English. But for everything that people hope this might be, a class
taught by two missionaries once or twice a week will never make someone fluent
in English. Everyone just comes at such different levels. But we're doing our
best to give people at least a taste of English. Many of the youth can already
read and maybe speak a little. Last night we sang Silent Night in English and taught
them how to pray in English.
That's pretty
much all that's new.
I love you all!
