Definitely the highlight of
this week was that I got to watch conference! And I got to watch it in English!
So nice to be able to understand easily and listen to the actual voices and the
emotion. Besides, how are you ever going to translate a talk by Elder Holland?
All of the North American missionaries gathered in the High Council room to
watch on a small TV.
We're finally starting to
have a few investigators. We managed to have three come to the Sunday Morning
session. We had committed a bunch of people to go. So Sunday morning we set out
to gather them. My comp was worried that they wouldn't all fit in the small bus
the ward had. I wasn't. On the off chance that they all came, I was going to be
soo happy that I would find a way to make them fit. Even though we went out to
gather some people, the three who did come came on their own and early! I'm
feeling really optimistic about these three. One of them, William, has had a
Book of Mormon for a few days and is now on chapter 11. What's more, before the
session started, he sat there reading more!
In other news, on Wednesday
we went on divisions with the Sister Training leaders. I went to the other area
and Sister Blanco and I had a Book of Mormon day. In each of our lessons we
taught about or reviewed the importance of the Book of Mormon, including when
we first contacted people. It's not the way to work every single day because
there are other things we need to teach, but it made for a really good day!
As a dietary sidenote, I am
eating a lot of rice these days. Rice seems to be a standard component of lunch
in Honduras, and perhaps especially in La Ceiba.
Well family, I love you lots
and lots. I hope you have a wonderful week!
