Dear family,
I'm not really long on time
to write today, but it's still more time than I had when I first entered the
CCM!
This week we
taught a group of men who gather every evening in the street to play cards. We
taught the restoration, and they all paid attention. Some of them even seemed
interested. We still haven't convinced any of them to commit to come to church,
but just maybe some will eventually come. We have essentially no Priesthood
holders in this colony. So I like to think we're teaching a bunch of potential
priesthood holders and leaders for a branch or ward in this colony instead of
shipping everyone to another area.
Saturday night,
one of the recent converts in the area of his own planning hosted a missionary
event in his house. He provided food and showed the movie Joseph Smith, Prophet
of the Restoration. We couldn't stay for the whole thing, but I was touched to
watch how this brother is working in the missionary effort!
On Sunday, President and Sister Klein came to our ward. After the meeting, we had an emergency lesson with one of our investigators. He really wants to get baptized so that he can eventually be sealed to his wife who is already a member. But we need to overcome some Word of Wisdom challenges. We talked, prayed, set goals. We hope that he can quickly overcome this so that he can reach his goal to be baptized. (Not our goal for him to be baptized. He really wants this.)
Afterward, the six of us
missionaries in the ward had lunch with Pres. and Sister Klein. It was a great
chance to be together and to get to know President and his wife better. It was
a good Sunday.
Well family, I'm out of time.
It's time to go and work. I love you all. I pray for you as always. Remember,
prayer works...you can get answers!
Love,
Hermana Davis
