Hello family!
Happy Mother's day,
Mom! Mother's day is a big deal in Honduras. The schools have big events
and invite the moms. Everyone plans special dinners and many make or buy cakes
(which is reserved for birthdays and other special events). And everyone goes
to visit their Mom. Except of course the missionaries only call. Sunday
afternoon the chapel was full of people making skype calls to their missionaries
who are serving elsewhere.
On Tuesday I got to go back
to one of my old areas. La Paz, where I served for one transfer. I got to go
back to the part where I served for only two weeks, but people still remember
me :). And I got to see Marla and her mother-in-law, Caridad. That was really
special for me.
On Saturday we helped the
Relief Society make foam flowers. Hna Lopez taught the sisters how to make the
flower. There was only one hot glue gun. But as my companion pointed out, the
sisters talked more because they had to constantly ask for someone to pass the
glue gun, scissors, or another sheet of foam.
Sunday the Primary children
sang ''A Mi Madre,'' and I played the piano. I'd never heard the song before. I
don't know whether that's because it's only in Spanish or because I need to
spend more time in Primary. :)
I love you all so very much,
and I hope you have a wonderful week!
Hermana Davis
